Well, in the middle of this enormous endeavor, the singer starts getting a little weird. Even though the band has a legitimate chance of making it to the major labels (most bands do not!) the singer starts flaking out. He doesn't show up to a few vocal sessions and he's out of town all the time when he should be practicing with the band.. It puts an enormous strain on the band, who has put their blood, sweat, and tears into doing everything they can to make this band as powerful as possible and then their singer doesn't seam to be a part of it.
The singer has lost site of the original goal of doing everything right to become rock stars and now the singer's music goals seam to have taken a backseat for other personal desires.
The band is done, unless they make a personal change.?
Conclusion
These are all problems that occur when musicians do not make a plan or do not stick to that plan. Each situation is excessively inefficient and ends up in not only wasting enormous amounts of work and time, but doesn't get you any closer to where you really want to be as a musician.
As a band, you should hang out, drink a few hundred beers, or do whatever it is that you normally do. Then you should seriously talk about what you want to do. When everyone agrees on a clear cut goal, everyone can begin to think about ways of achieving these goals. Hell, even if your band is nothing but total lazy asses, I think I've illustrated how defining you goals will make the band more efficient and give you more time for being a lazy ass.
