Native Instruments Komplete ? TOO MUCH!!!!!!
By Brandon Drury | Published  08/16/2006

After being on backorder, Native Instruments Komplete finally came in. I must say that this is one overwhelming package of sounds. In fact, there is so much here that I'm probably not going to be able to touch ? of it in the next 6 months.

I'll give you a refresher of what Native Instruments Komplete is. Basically, Native Instruments is one of the top companies in the world of midi music production. Their sampler, Kontakt 2 is known for being one of the top samplers out. Their VSTi instruments are of ultra quality and Native Instruments is known for creating unique plugins as well. Komplete takes a very large chunk of what Native Instruments entire product line and crams it all into one box. Individually, these packages would cost well over $3,000. Normally, Komplete sells for $1,300 which isn't bad at all considering all you get.

Well, they just put Komplete on sale for $600 and I had to jump on it.

Now that it is in, I spent 5 hours last night hitting a chord with one hand and clicking on presets with the other. There are SO many sounds that it is really ridiculous. I'm basically done!! Okay, not really. The bug is just starting. I'm going to need way more VST instruments in the near future. Not because I really need them, but more because I have a thousand sounds, I may has as well get a million!!!

It appears that I'm going to have to ration out my use of the various portions of Komplete. I know I'll be using Kontakt 2, the sampler, from day one. However, I'm going to need to master each element one at a time, otherwise, I'll be overwhelmed and won't learn anything.

Either, my first impression is Komplete is an enormously comprehensive package for anyone getting started with midi production (like me, ha ha). Some sounds are truly amazing and sound way better than I would have ever imagined.

I'll get around to a real review later. I just waned to say that Komplete is amazing!!
