Do Your Really Believe In Your Band? Prove It With your $$$
By Brandon Drury | Published  05/20/2006
I've dealt with my fair share of jokers who saw no problem in wasting my time and working me like a dog just so they could half ass their own musical path. Well, I've come to notice something about band members and musicians. Many of them only act like they have confidence in their band.

Most band people have no shortage of confidence in their music. This generally comes from being so ignorant as to how talented the big boys really are that they think they compete. Well, the sad truth is 99% of the bands are nowhere close to being good enough to compete with the big boy bands in their genre. Subconsciously, band members know it. How can you tell? Easy.

Look At How Band Members Spend Their Money

A guitar player will have no problem dropping $2500 on a mega guitar but how many local bands drop $2500 on recording a record? Of course, a band can split the cost by 3, 4, 5, or more band members. So maybe the per person cost for the record is $500 or so. I see it time and time again. While a great guitar is nice, I can guarantee you putting out your truely great record will be nicer.

By the way, I'm very picky about guitars and I'm 100% happy with my $200 Agiles from Rondomusic.com.
